NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY AS COSMETIC MEDICAL
PRACTICES START TO REOPEN

The Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia (CPCA) welcomes the government’s three-step plan to ease restrictions and enable the staged reopening of businesses across Australia.

This news sees cosmetic medical practices nationwide, gradually reopening their doors. However, the CPCA urges the importance of ensuring there are specific protocols in place and consultation with medical indemnity companies to ensure safe practice procedures to protect both patients and physicians.

The CPCA has outlined its safe practice protocols on its website cpca.net.au to provide assistance to anyone considering seeking cosmetic medical procedures during the easing process. It includes specified protocols for Cosmetic Physicians such as patient temperature checks, social distancing measures as well as providing discretionary access to gloves, face mask and tissues for the patient (unless examination of peri oral region is required) and standard surgical masks and PPE to be worn by the health practitioner as well as clean single use gloves, and scrubs.
