28 Mar Post Partum Hair Loss. What It Is and How To Fix It
According to Dr Spano, up to 90% of women experience postpartum hair loss. During pregnancy, more hair is in the growth phase. But in the last month, this stops temporarily and this can continue until after birth. After a few months, the hair will begin to grow again. This is how shedding happens, combined with a drop in oestrogen levels, as the hair adjusts and tries to recover, getting back to normal. Dr Spano says it’s unlikely that hair loss is caused by breastfeeding.

For some it may be minimal that nobody will see, while some women can experience noticeable thinning of the hair. There are things you can do if you are experiencing postpartum hair loss.
