Seminar Description:

This seminar was designed in response to recent AHPRA reforms for cosmetic practitioners and the upcoming RANZCO guidelines regarding filler-related blindness. The program will:

  • delve into crucial topics such as the evolution of facial fillers, diagnosing and treating both ischaemic and non-ischaemic complications.
  • explore the latest evidence pertaining to the mechanism of filler-induced blindness and the use of hyaluronidase.
  • analyse the current ANZ complications database and provide participants with invaluable insights into handling emergency situations.

During this four-hour online seminar Australian and international experts will address the latest guidelines for managing filler-related blindness and other complications, including the latest RANZCO recommendations. Participants will be guided, step-by-step, on identifying and managing complications based on the best available scientific evidence.

Target Audience:

This online seminar is designed for

  • those who administer facial filler injections
  • those who regularly interact with patients undergoing such procedures
  • consultants, trainees, nurse injectors

CPD Outcomes:

Applicable for 4 CPD Hours under CPCA Category 3a Attendance at approved scientific or clinical outcomes meeting.

Also approved by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) for 4 hours of continuing professional development.

This workshop will cover:

  • facial vascular anatomy,
  • facial filler injectable technique (theory),
  • complication prevention,
  • identifying complications, and
  • complications management.
