Appeals and Complaints Policy

The CPCA is committed to implementing a fair and consistent approach review of any complaint or appeal made by any party regarding the actions of the CPD Home members.

Continuous Improvement Policy
The CPCA is committed to a continuous improvement framework which consists of identifying opportunities and risks for development from various formal and ad hoc sources on a regular basis that will inform the development of the CPD program(s) (including requirements, systems, support, and any content).

CPD Records Audit Policy
The CPCA is committed to auditing practitioners’ CPD records to assess the specificity to the scope of practice, completeness of evidence provided, and educational quality of activities undertaken, in a manner that meets the requirements of the Medical Board of Australia for audit activity, including content that relates to cultural safety, professionalism, ethical healthcare and health inequities.
No less than 5% of practitioner records will be audited annually.

CPD Records Management Policy
The CPCA is committed to implementing a systematic and consistent approach to CPD records management that aligns with privacy legislation.

Exemptions and Variations Policy
The CPCA is committed to implementing a systematic, consistent, and flexible approach to exemptions and variations to ensure that CPD Home members are supported in safe and culturally appropriate ways.

Identifying Practitioners at Risk Policy
The CPCA is committed to implementing a systematic and consistent approach to identifying when practitioners are at risk of not meeting the requirements of their CPD program(s) as delivered by the CPD Home. The CPCA will ensure for each practitioner at risk they will provide guidance or support to assist them meet the requirements.

Responding to Requests for Advice Policy
The CPCA is committed to responding to requests for advice on CPD activities to support further training and CPD activities and to support remediation of practitioners who have been identified as underperforming in a particular area in a timely and transparent manner while maintaining the privacy of all members. This will include advice for those who are at risk of not meeting requirements, re-training for those who are returning to the CPD Program either from an exemption period, due to an adjustment, or as a returning member.
