02 Aug Australian doctors launch cosmetic injectable campaign
Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers have seen an almost explosive increase in popularity, and thanks to social media influencer use, popularity doesn’t seem to be waning. The problem with cosmetic procedures that see a quick uptake in popularity is that there is also the potential for seeing an increase in things going wrong.
Botched cosmetic procedures can have an impact on both the physical and the mental health of those who are now faced with results that are certainly not what they had envisioned.
To encourage education and promote awareness, the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia (CPCA) launched a campaign called “Get Real.” Dr. Michael Molton, CPCA’s President, says “The CPCA believes it is of upmost significance that patients seek appropriate professional medical advice to make informed decisions in consultation with trained doctors who maintain the highest ethical standards.”
